The Marco Police Foundation (MPF) hosts several key annual fundraising events to support the Marco Island Police Department. MPF through its fundraising activities provide educational scholarships for tuition for officers’ continuing education, scholarships for their immediate family members, funding for training and crisis assistance, and funding assistance for law enforcement equipment.
Annual Events
- January: Pickleball Slammer – The 2026 Pickleball Slammer took place on January 23–25, 2026, at the Marco Island YMCA. This tournament features men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles across various skill levels. This last event had over 400 players competing over three days and raised darena record amount to help support our local law enforcement.
- March: Lunch with the Chief – These annual lunches provide a platform for community engagement with Police Chief Tracy Frazzano and featured guest speakers. This year’s lunch will be held on March 10th at the Island Country Club with guest speaker Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno. Topics focus on key law enforcement initiatives and other current topics affecting public safety in our communities.
- April: Rib Cook-Off – This annual BBQ event is typically held at the Marco Island Brewery. The 2026 Rib Cook-Off will take place on Saturday April 25, 2026, featuring rib and chicken meals, live music, and raffles. This well attended event runs from noon through most of the afternoon and brings together our community and law enforcement in a fun community event. This is not to be missed!
- October: Annual Golf Tournament – The 22st Annual Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Island Country Club. The event includes a shotgun start, breakfast, and a buffet lunch to benefit the MPF Scholarship Fund. Each year we have over 120 twenty golfers in an enjoyable round of golf at the exclusive Island Country Club.
